Ever wonder what members of the Dona Ana Arts Council think about art? While not all of us are artist (although we can boast that many of us are), we all share a steadfast appreciation and understanding that the arts are essential to developing our local community and culture. Art connects us, inspires us, and gives our children better tools to learn and change the world around us.

The arts provide the opportunity of satisfaction for everyone who participates. Whether fine arts, performing arts or interpretation of art, the processes and the outcomes can be wonderfully fulfilling. Sometimes the results are surprising, even disappointing. Yet the real yield is the enhancement of a person's knowledge, talent and ability.

Without the arts it would be a dull world - one that our children couldn't flourish in. Art is all around us and should be appreciated and loved.

The arts matter to me because they allow us to freely express how we interpret our surroundings. Great works of art inspire others to open their senses up to how beautiful the world is that oftentimes we simply take for granted.
