Essentrics is a dynamic weight-free strengthening program based on elements of Pilates, Ballet, Yoga and T’ai Chi. The name Essentrics stems from the concept of eccentric muscle work, which implies that there is a load on the muscle while it is being lengthened.
The Essentrics program now will be offered in Las Cruces at the Doña Ana Arts & Cultural Center by Level IV Certified Essentrics teacher, Carol Witham. Carol is one of only five fully certified Essentrics instructors in the United States, and the only Essentrics trainer living in the southwest. She studied with the originator of Essentrics, Miranda Esmonde-White in Montreal.
The Fall 2019 Essentrics program is $120 for 12 one-hour classes. Classes will start on Tuesday, September 3 from 5:15 to 6:15 p.m. and continue on Tuesdays at the same time through December 3 (Schedule EXCEPTION: NO classes on October 1 and November 5). Class size is limited to 15 students. Pre-registration is required for class attendance.
Participants should bring a yoga mat and water, and wear comfortable clothing. The Doña Ana Arts & Cultural Center is located at 1740 Calle de Mercado, Mesilla, New Mexico, in the Bulletin Plaza next to Paisano Cafe. Call 575-523-6403 for more information.
