Reina Rosa’s Royal Bilingual Story Hour

¡Looking Bilingüe! Storytime Series

This fall, the Doña Ana Arts Council welcomes families to a special bilingual storytelling series in celebration of Latino/Hispanic Heritage Month. Reina Rosa La Cantacuentos, portrayed by educator and storyteller Jade Cintrón Báez, brings stories to life in both English and Spanish with warmth, humor, and dramatic flair.

Each session begins with music and playful introductions before the royal court is opened to families. Children are guided through call-and-response songs, movement games, and imaginative play that make them part of the story. The heart of the hour is a featured cuento drawn from Latin American or Spanish traditions, followed by a short activity that encourages children to connect personally with the themes of the story. Sessions conclude with a farewell song, sending families home with smiles, new vocabulary, and lasting memories.

The series consists of five hour-long sessions, held on Saturdays, October 11th, 18th, 25th, 2025 from 10:30 AM – 11:30 AM. NO RSVP - Free community event!

Where? Doña Ana Arts Council Gallery, 230 S. Water St. Las Cruces, NM. Free parking.

The program is designed for families with children from birth through age 8, though all ages are welcome. No RSVP is required — attendees may simply join on the scheduled dates and enjoy this lively celebration of language and culture.
