Van Delized marks the exciting debut of Las Cruces–based artist Nate Van Del, whose work turns the familiar into something playfully unexpected. Van Del scours local thrift stores for forgotten, traditional paintings and gives them new life by adding beloved characters from the 1990s and 2000s — from Snoopy and LEGO mini figures to familiar film icons. Each piece blends fine art tradition with the mischievous humor of a Sunday comic strip, creating a nostalgic yet refreshingly original experience.
